For nearly thirty years, I have been a psychotherapist in private practice. I have a passion to help individuals, couples and families heal on a deep level. Early in my career, I worked in traditional practices with psychiatrists and other clinicians but with more and more life experience and trainings, my approach to therapy evolved. I consider my approach to be a diverse combination of traditional, alternative and holistic practices. Using traditional psychotherapy techniques and philosophies, I pull from the wisdom from which the field was founded. However, my years of experiences have taught me, the importance of addressing issues on all levels including, mind, body and spirit. Using the old and new therapies together, I can create a treatment that in many cases is closer to nature, cheaper and less invasive than conventional therapies. My clients take the lead to identify what issues they want to address and we work together to choose approaches they feel will help them reach their goals.

Experience has taught me, there are usually biological reasons why someone might feel depressed. It is important to not just treat symptoms of mental illness but to determine the root cause of those symptoms. Is it as simple as diet or vitamin deficiency, or do we need to work together to make changes in your lifestyle, slowing your personal pace for example?
Working with you, I use affirming, encouraging methods that allow you to focus on improving yourself and your relationships. My approach is customized to the individual and I have found that working on all levels can produce changes that are sustainable over the long term. I appreciate the benefit of talk therapy but also know that simply understanding why you feel or typically act this way does not always fully change that ingrained unconscious thought or behavior pattern.
That is why I offer other types of therapy too. I am a Certified Emotion Code Practitioner and trained in other forms of energy work. You, the client, choose what to include in your treatment plan. I simply offer all the possibilities available to you. With all these different tools at my disposal, what I’ve found is that we can significantly decrease the amount of time spent in therapy.
