Laura provides individual, couple, and family therapy for adolescents and adults. She has worked with adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings including private practice, acute care, and residential treatment. Laura specializes in couple and family therapy, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, adjustment reactions, women’s issues and life transitions. Laura has a special interest in connecting mind/body/spirit for emotional wellness. She began her private practice at Charlotte Psychiatric Associates in 1991 and has been at Arboretum Behavioral Health Associates since it opened in June of 2000.
Laura is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina in 1985. She attended intensive classes at the Haden Institute on Spiritual Direction. She received the Dr. Ann C. Brown Award in 1989 for her significant contribution to the field of mental health. Laura lives in Charlotte with her husband, Craig Bass, who is the CEO of Alexander Youth Network, and they have two grown sons.
